Its a pity, MEN in BLUE!!

Its a pity, MEN in BLUE!!

INDIA LOSES MISERABLY!!!

TOP ORDER CRUMBLES YET AGAIN!!!

SERIES WHITEWASH IN THE CARRIBEAN!!!

PROTEAS MAKE MINCE MEAT OUT OF INDIA!!!

These are just some of the headlines that has been hitting the leading dailies over the past few months. It is nothing but a clear cut view on the men in blue- the Indian cricket team...

Nowadays the critics, specialists, visual media and the print media have been asking the same question over and over again- What is the root cause for the repeated misery of the team?????????????????????????????

When you are in Rome , behave like the Romans...Taking this cue, I too pondered over this debacle of the team... My conclusions..

  • The so called greats of the team failing repeatedly....... Sachin, Sehwag, Ganguly... these supposedly great players who are past their prime are making the team a laughing stock. They score once in a blue moon, and the nation and selectors seem to be happy when they score a ton out of the blue moon. The justification that they have scored more than 10k runs is absurd. Then why in the world do we change a car after it covers a specified distance. Man is like a machine. He undergoes wear and tear and has to be replaced after sometime. Its high time the selectors take a bold stand and drop these players

  • Too much of experiments.......... Coach Greg Chapell is doing wonders by experimenting various combinations. But with his limited powers, he has to try out different combinations with a few players alone. The players whom he get to work with are selected with a political bias. The real cream of talent is lost in this made race for money, power and prestige.

  • Do we lack in quality players??????.......... Its really shameful that a country with 1/6th of the world population has not yet produced a single world class athlete. Is there not a single individual who can win a gold medal in the olympics? Now we come to the bigger picture. India is a country where cricket is a religion. Because of this, other sports are neglected. Thousands of budding youngsters in tennis, badminton, swimming etc drop their dreams halfway due to the lack of sponsors and funding. This is just because of the cricket mania among the people, and hence ad companies are not ready to concentrate on other games. Even after all this attention to cricket( at the cost of other sports) , its not paying dividends, jus further misery. Its a pity to witness this....

  • Lack of infrastructure......... This is the subject on which a hue and cry is made after every loss. For the last 60 years we have been hearing this same lame excuse. Nothing has been done even after this blame game......

  • "Fools Game" " A battle for survival where a poor guy has to defend himself with a thin stick" These were the famous words of Bernhard Shaw(though incorrectly quoted by me :D) ...
Its high time that either we quit encouraging this silly game and focus on several other brilliant games which are physically and mentally more challenging than a game that takes a whole day away from us or take immediate strong measures and take the men in blue and the country to the zenith of glory..

i would also like to add on what i think about our chance in worldcup 07..
NIL!!!!!( its nt pessimism, but unshameful acceptance of the raw truth).....

I expect the aussies to win this time.. (though in the heart of hearts i expect mera bharat to win).......

Ok,i understand ur sentiments over the poor performance of the Indian team,Yes something is terribly wrong somewhere. There seems to be so many problems with selection, where somebody who cant even hold a bat properly like Reina gets in the team ,but one of the best Indian players of all timeV.V.S Laxman will end his carrer without even a world cup match to his credit.Players like Kaif whom i cant remember the last time he scored a two digit runs and in past Yuvraj as well was kept in the reason for non cricketing reasons
For India to achieve something
1.Sack Chappel
2.Get away with selectors who implement quota in the selection.

But I cant by any means agree with ur suggetion to forget cricket and get along with other games.
India is a diverse nation,if there is something that bonds every citizn its cricket.Being a Young Democratic country we have often found ourselves im misery from riots to ecnomic crisis to internatonal sanctions to waging war with neigbours and so other stuff, even during such turmoils a victory against some top teams, especially Pakistan gave us some hope in our life. This was said last week by Shobha De who said "I used to pity those cricters coz the hopes and aspiration of an entire nation was vested upon them. Now things have changed".

It is something in our blood.

Then its the same allround the world like baseball players earn heavily in U.S.A,footballers in Englansd and Cricters in India

The performance was poor..i accept....but cass players like sachin , Dravid etc hould be always there in the team...atleast till the world cup....juz cant imagine a world cup squad without sachin Dravid or kumble....coz there's no one to replace them.....

The main prob , not only with cricket , but in every field in our counrty is unwanted politics....even in BCCi there's dirty politics....the money that's used for briing at the time of president elections is more than kerala state budget....

anywsys nice post yaar....hope we'll win with some fantastic performance from Sachin......evnethough my mind says it'll be the Aussies....
